Administrative Guidelines

For a safe and orderly year

So that the school year runs safely and smoothly, we would like to highlight once again some administrative guidelines.

School entrance

Students must arrive on time; the school day begins at 7:30 a.m. Late students may only enter the classroom at the change of period. Under school rules, three late arrivals count as one absence; a student with 50% absences in a subject loses the right to a term grade.

Parents dropping off their children should walk them only to the school entrance. Once inside, students must remain on school grounds.

In the mornings, the cafeteria sells to students only until 7:15 a.m. Students must bring their supplies, materials, homework and snacks every day, as the school has no staff to take them to the classroom. We encourage parents to reinforce the value of responsibility.

7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., except during recess (9:30 to 10:10 a.m. and 10:50 to 11:20 a.m.) and on Mondays after the Civic Ceremony (8:15 a.m.). Teacher meetings are by appointment from 2:15 p.m.; teachers who are not available in the afternoon may meet in the morning by appointment.

For safety reasons, unauthorized people may not enter during class time or recess. Entry to classrooms or other work areas is not permitted.

Parents should first speak with the subject teacher, then with the academic or discipline coordinator, the Assistant Principal and, if necessary, the Principal, requesting an appointment.

MEDUCA grants permission to travel abroad for official representation and emergencies; the student will have eight (8) school days to catch up. After an absence, a written excuse from the parent must be presented upon return: to the counselor in primary or to the Assistant Principal's office in secondary. Late excuses will not be accepted.

Report cards are handed out at an announced meeting from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.; later pickups are only on Wednesdays from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Cell phones and other distracting devices may not be used from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
